Expanding in size and use digital screens play perhaps the most intergral role in our daily life. But as these devices become larger and an essential format for work/leisure the evolution of its use continues. With this new phone/tablet we observed that the over sized screen is not easy to use solely with a digital key board. Adding a stylus allows the user the to engage in a typical 'agenda' scenario; writing, sketching, etc. But we felt it necessary to find other applications to evolve its role in daily use. The solution that resulted is an innovative function that allows the stylus to double as ’kickstand’. A cavity placed in the back allows the user to insert the stylus and then enjoy a film, receive a VOIP call or view a slide show hands free in both horizontal and vertical positions.
